


A Delta Air Lines flight was evacuated Monday morning after one of its engines caught on fire.
The flight was pushing back from the gate ahead of departure from Orlando International Airport around 11:15 a.m. when an engine caught fire, according to the Federal Aviation Administration. Passengers were seen exiting the plane via emergency evacuation slides as firefighters extinguished the fire.

A cause for the flames has not yet been provided. The FAA is investigating the incident.
The plane was scheduled to fly to Atlanta. It was carrying 282 passengers, 10 flight attendants, and two pilots.
There have been no reports of injuries. The passengers were returned to the terminal building, where they were rebooked on a new flight to Atlanta.

In a statement, a spokesperson for Delta Air Lines said that “nothing is more important than safety and Delta teams will work to get our customers to their final destinations as soon as possible.”
This incident is one of a dozen aviation mishaps so far this year.
