NextImg:Defiant McConnell swats away health concerns: 'I will finish my term as leader'


Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) on Wednesday dismissed any concerns about his health or ability to serve out his leadership duties at his first press conference since his two highly-publicized medical episodes.

MCCONNELL HEALTH EPISODES LOOM OVER SENATE RETURN TO WASHINGTON

McConnell faced a flurry of questions about his health and wellbeing at Wednesday's presser, which he laughed off as he projected normalcy.

"What the doctor's report addressed was concerns people might have of some things that happened to me did happen well they didn't. I have nothing to add to that," McConnell said in reference to a letter released by his office from Dr. Brian Monahan's the Capitol's attending physician, clearing him for work.

“I will finish my term as leader and I will finish my Senate term," he added.

Monahan said in the Tuesday letter that there was "no evidence" that the octogenarian leader had "experienced a stroke, TIA or movement disorder such as Parkinson’s disease."
