Actor Dean Cain dismissed late-night host John Oliver making fun of him, implying Oliver “stole” the jokes from the internet.
Cain announced last week that he will join Immigration and Customs Enforcement, as he was sworn in as a reserve police officer in 2018. The actor said he wants to “join with our first responders to help secure the safety of all Americans, not just talk about it.”

Oliver made fun of Cain’s new job on Sunday’s episode of Last Week Tonight, suggesting that Cain was all ICE could recruit.
“There’s an old saying in Hollywood: if all you can get is Dean Cain, you are f***ed,” Oliver said.
“I’m not saying that ICE isn’t finding people, just say when you’re reduced to pinning a badge on the 59 year-old star of The Dog Who Saved Christmas, The Dog Who Saved Christmas Vacation, The Dog Who Saved The Holidays, The Dog Who Saved Halloween, The Dog Who Saved Easter, and, The Dog Who Saved Summer, maybe you are in trouble,” Oliver continued, referencing Cain’s film credits.
Cain is most known for playing Superman in Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.
“Although on the plus side, no need for that guy to wear a mask because the chances of anyone recognizing him are f***ing zero,” Oliver added.
Cain responded to Oliver’s jokes on X with a crying laughing emoji.
“He stole that mask joke from the internet — and he also laughed hysterically when Trump said he was going to run for President. Case closed,” Cain said.
Cain added, “(and those movies were sweet, by the way!)”

Another user commented, “If that’s what they think of Dean Cain, what do they even think of a bricklayer or frycook who doesn’t act?”, which Cain responded to with the caption, “Exactly.”
In recent weeks, ICE has implemented many recruiting strategies, including a $50,000 signing bonus and student loan repayment for new officers.
