Actress Cynthia Nixon claimed that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is "worse" than former President Donald Trump.
Nixon was explaining why she believed a ceasefire between Israel and the Hamas terrorist group was needed in order for Hamas to release the hostages it is holding captive and how hostages who have been released are "angry" with Netanyahu for his handling of the hostage situation. The View co-host Sunny Hostin added that the hosts do not talk enough about Netanyahu "because he is the Donald Trump of Israel," with some of her fellow co-hosts agreeing.

"If I can even say this, he's worse, which I never thought I would say about anybody," Nixon said on The View on Wednesday.
Prior to her comment on Netanyahu, Nixon stated that Israel had been responsible for killing over 16,000 Palestinians in Gaza, which she said was more than how many people "the United States and its allies" killed in the war in Afghanistan. She also clarified that the Hamas attack on Oct. 7 was indeed "terror" but added that additional civilian casualties would create "a better place."
Last week, Nixon went on a hunger strike to call for a ceasefire in Gaza and was joined by five Democratic state lawmakers, including New York state Rep. Zohran Mamdani, Oklahoma state Rep. Mauree Turner, Virginia state Rep. Sam Rasoul, Michigan state Rep. Abraham Aiyash, and Delaware state Rep. Madinah Wilson-Anton. Nixon had intended only to go on her hunger strike for two days but said on The View that her strike lasted for four days in total.

Nixon, known for playing one of the lead roles in the television series Sex and the City and its spinoff, And Just Like That, said the strike is meant to mirror to President Joe Biden "the kind of deprivation that is happening in Gaza." She also said that the president has the ability "to make a ceasefire happen,” according to the Times of Israel.
The actress was one of 260 artists who signed an open letter calling for Biden and Congress to commit to a ceasefire. Another letter, signed by over 300 artists, asked Biden to continue his work on freeing the Israeli and U.S. citizens taken hostage by Hamas.
