


At least two Cuban migrants were handed over to U.S. Customs and Border Protection on Saturday after they landed in Florida on a motorized hang glider.
The pair used the glider to travel roughly 90 miles from the communist island nation to the United States, according to a report.

They arrived at Key West International Airport around 10:30 a.m., according to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, before being turned over to Border Patrol agents.
"This is not a typical event," Monroe County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Adam Linhardt said. "But it's not completely unusual."

Cubans fleeing the communist regime have played a major role in the illegal immigrantion overwhelming the nation's ports of entry both on land and by boat.

In the wake of the flood of immigrants, President Joe Biden implemented a policy change in January mandating that all migrants request a permit or parole online prior to their arrival with the sponsorship of an acquainting or relative inside the U.S., the report noted.
Failure to do so puts one at risk of being deported.
