Cracker Barrel said Tuesday it is “continuing to listen” to consumers opposed to its rebrand, saying it won’t remodel any restaurants yet to receive one.
The restaurant chain created a firestorm on social media last month when most people strongly criticized its new logo, and a brighter interior redesign also garnered criticism. Cracker Barrel said last month it would keep its original logo and announced Tuesday that its interior redesign will not go forward.

“We heard clearly that the modern remodel design does not reflect what you love about Cracker Barrel. We had tested this design in only four out of 660 locations, and we won’t continue with it,” a statement from the chain read.

The halt on Cracker Barrel’s interior redesign could mark the end of this saga, which even drew the attention of President Donald Trump. The president encouraged the chain to revert to its original logo and congratulated it after it did so.
“All of your fans very much appreciate it. Good luck into the future,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

The proposed redesign also drew criticism from Cracker Barrel cofounder Tommy Lowe, who called it “bland” and “crazy.” He also said the chain tried to “be more like competition” with this shakeup, but “Cracker Barrel doesn’t have any competition.”
Meanwhile, fast food chain Steak n’ Shake started selling hats calling for Cracker Barrel CEO Julie Masino’s firing. The hats resemble Trump’s signature Make America Great Again campaign hats.
