Singer Courtney Love said she plans to attain U.K. citizenship and reside there permanently to avoid the “emperor-core” of the Trump administration.

Love, 60, is the latest celebrity to announce a permanent move away from the United States due to President Donald Trump. Many celebrities threatened to move following Trump’s first term, but his second term has prompted many to follow through.

London has been Love’s home since 2019. The San Francisco native, who was married to late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain, earned her fame from singing and songwriting. In an interview, Love said she was a fan of London’s “laws. No guns. Four seasons. Discourse. You stan a middle-aged woman far better. Discretion.”

“It’s so great to live here. I’m finally getting my British citizenship in six months,” Love reportedly said earlier this month to the Royal Geographical Society. “Emperor-core is going on at Mar-a-Lago. It’s frightening now. It’s like cyanide now.”

This followed comedian Rosie O’Donnell‘s move to Ireland just before Trump’s inauguration. On TikTok, O’Donnell explained that she does not plan to return to the U.S. until it’s “safe.” In the meantime, she is pursuing Irish citizenship.

O’Donnell’s feud with Trump predates his political career. The two have spatted over topics such as Miss USA 2006 and body image.
