Costco customers in New York have 10 days to submit a claim to receive money from a class-action lawsuit settlement if they purchased Kirkland Signature Moist Flushable Wipes between 2011 and 2017.

The lawsuit claims that Costco falsely advertised the wipes as flushable when they were not, that they damaged pipes and septic systems, and caused other plumbing problems for customers.

“Consumers argue they would not have purchased the wipes if they knew they were not truly flushable as advertised,” according to Top Class Actions.

The wholesale company admitted no wrongdoing but agreed to pay out $2 million.

Customers who made purchases between July 1, 2011, and May 31, 2017, are eligible to be paid out, but they do not need to show proof with a receipt. Customers are eligible to receive $1.30 per purchased product, with a minimum award of $7.50 and a maximum payment of $55.90 per household. This is the equivalent of 43 products.
