Conservatives are slamming the Dutch after a transgender contestant was crowned Miss Netherlands over the weekend.

Rikkie Valerie Kolle, a 22-year-old biological male identifying as a woman, defeated nine women in becoming the third transgender contestant in Miss Universe's history.

"There are 8.7 million women who live in The Netherlands," one Twitter user commented.

"Why, then, did they need to pick a man to win their Miss Netherlands contest? What a disgrace."

"Mentally ill bloke wins female beauty pageant," said another user. "The Netherlands has fallen."

"If you think the dude on the left should be Miss Universe Netherlands instead of the woman on the right. Take off the face diaper, put down the Ukraine flag, turn off CNN, and seek help you're in a Cult," one user wrote, comparing Kolle to the runner-up.

"The most beautiful woman in the Netherlands is…….a man," another declared. "This insanity will continue until we stop celebrating it."

"A man just won "Miss Netherlands" 2023," according to one tweet.

"Considering the fact that we live in a post-Truth world, I wasn't even expecting anything else. It’s all so predictable and unoriginal at this point."

Kolle will represent the Netherlands in El Salvador, sometime after the other 37 participating countries crown their respective representatives — the last of which will occur in November.

"Transgender people in El Salvador experience significant discrimination in daily life because there is no procedure for legal gender recognition," according to Human Rights Watch.

"El Salvador’s Supreme Court has made patently clear that trans people have a right to their identity, and now the Legislative Assembly should comply with the ruling and ensure the rights of trans people," Cristian González Cabrera, LGBT rights researcher at Human Rights Watch, said.

"Without such legislation, trans people will continue to be disadvantaged in society, exacerbated by the generalized violence and discrimination they face in all aspects of life."
