Conservatives are punching back at a new policy from USA Boxing that allows biological men identifying as transgender women to box against biological women.

USA Boxing's 2024 rule book states that any male who transitions to identify as a woman will be eligible to compete in a traditionally female category.

"The purpose of this policy is to provide fairness and safety for all boxers," the governing body said in a statement.

While minors will be required to compete according to their sex assigned at birth, the new policy outlines specific requirements for the allowance of athletes who were born and completed puberty as males to compete against women.

Along with the completion of "gender reassignment surgery" and quarterly hormone testing over at least four years, an athlete's testosterone level will be under heavy scrutiny, according to the USA Boxing Transgender Policy.

"The athlete must demonstrate that her total testosterone level in serum has been below 5 nmol/L for at least 48 months prior to her first competition [with the requirement for any longer period to be based on a confidential case-by-case evaluation, considering whether or not 48 months is a sufficient length of time to minimize any advantage in women's competition]," the policy reads.

"The athlete's total testosterone level in serum must remain below 5 nmol/L throughout the period of desired eligibility to compete in the female category."

In the wake of the policy's announcement, conservatives slammed USA Boxing.

"USA boxing to allow men who merely say they are women to fight against women," Riley Gaines posted on X, formerly Twitter.

"Mark my words, it will take a woman getting killed before these misogynistic fools wake up."

"South Park was right once again," another user posted.

"They're going to encourage men cosplaying as females to beat women to death in the ring," according to one X user.

"No more @USABoxing in my house."

"Allowing men to break women's records is incomprehensible," one post read. "@USABoxing allowing men to physically beat women is insanity."

"IT IS NEVER OK FOR MEN TO HIT WOMEN. Save women's lives."
