The Washington Examiner exclusively obtained Defending Education’s civil rights complaint filed with the Department of Education against New Mexico‘s largest school district for discriminating against and endangering female minors. The complaint emphasizes the federal government‘s urgency to intervene against Albuquerque Public Schools to ensure the protection of the young females bound by fear from the dangers of being forced to share personal spaces with biological males.

The school district has “done violence to the spirit, letter, and history of Title IX,” Sarah Parshall Perry, vice president and legal fellow at Defending Education, told the Washington Examiner.

THE TRANSGENDER LOCKER ROOM

“By designating that every single sex facility at school and in all district-sponsored activities–including overnight events and extracurricular activities on and off campus–be accessible to students based on their gender identity, both school districts are inviting federal investigations,” Perry added.

Defending Education filed a complaint alleging that Albuquerque Public Schools’ policy on “gender identity and expression” violates Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, the equal protection clause of the 14th Amendment, and multiple presidential executive orders governing sex discrimination in federally funded programs. The group argues the policy places female students at risk by undermining their privacy and safety in private facilities.

The organization, committed to shielding education from extreme ideological agendas, called for a federal investigation into the school district as part of its mission to protect female students. It argues the district must end its embrace of what it sees as unfounded and harmful transgender policies.

“We will not rest until American schoolgirls can be assured the safety, privacy, and equality that they once enjoyed, and which their mothers and grandmothers fought so hard to secure,” Perry concluded.

Defending Education’s objection to the detrimental policies of New Mexico’s largest school district puts APS’s discriminatory violations on the federal government’s radar once more.

In 2016, the Women’s Liberation Front filed a lawsuit against the Department of Justice and the Department of  Education due to the school district’s violations of women’s civil rights.

“There have been several incidents of males going in female locker rooms and bathrooms and committing sexual assault and that’s a serious concern for us,” WoLF Board Member Kara Dansky said upon introducing the lawsuit.

However, the case was dismissed by a magistrate judge in 2017 over a technicality.

However, with the reaffirmed commitment from Defending Education, the Albuquerque school district’s lengthy war on vulnerable females might at last come to an end.

Under President Donald Trump’s second administration, the federal government has prioritized female safety, specifically in schools.

Shortly after his second inauguration, the president signed an executive order to keep men out of women’s sports.

Earlier this week, two federal agencies concluded a joint investigation and urged Minnesota to end its Title IX violations and prevent biological males from participating in women’s sports.

TRUMP ADMINISTRATION FINDS MINNESOTA VIOLATED TITLE IX

Now, because of Defending Education, the Albuquerque School District might be the next far-reaching school system to fall under pressure due to the Trump administration’s desire to protect vulnerable young girls.

The school district has jeopardized the welfare of its students for far too long, and it is time that comes to an end. The Trump administration has not signaled that it would reduce momentum anytime soon. The president and Defending Education will continue to defend Title IX and force school districts to reverse their dangerous and discriminatory policies.
