NextImg:Conservatives call for Disney boycott over gender-fluid-inspired clothing ad

The Walt Disney Company partnered with an influencer who identifies as gender-fluid for a clothing ad, showing followers on TikTok how to dress like Minnie Mouse.

Seann Altman, who dresses in women's clothing but uses he/him pronouns, was featured on the Disney Style social media page, which posts content related to fashion inspired by Disney characters.

GOP HOPEFULS POISED TO ENCIRCLE DESANTIS AT OPENING DEBATE

Altman is seen in a red dress featuring the iconic character.

"I literally look like Minnie Mouse, and I fit in perfectly with Mickey and his friends," Altman said in the video. "The bow, with the dress, and the shoes really sealed the deal. Now I'm fashionable, bold, and fun, just like Minnie Mouse!"

Altman stated in the video that of all the characters among Mickey Mouse and his friends, Minnie Mouse was the "most like me."

The video from Disney Style has been criticized by conservatives online, with some calling to "cancel the mouse."

The dislike of the ad among conservatives comes as Disney has undergone multiple financial woes, with two of its most recent movies, Haunted Mansion and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, greatly underperforming at the box office. Its two theme parks in the United States, Disney World in Florida and Disneyland in California, have both reported declining attendance over the past few months, which Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) has blamed on the company's "woke" agenda.

The recent partnership with Altman comes after Bud Light, owned by Anheuser-Busch, partnered with transgender activist Dylan Mulvaney. Since the partnership, beer brands owned by Anheuser-Busch have suffered numerous financial woes, with the company reporting a nearly $400 million loss in the second quarter.

Earlier this week, Anheuser-Busch announced it would be selling off eight of its labels to Tilray Brands, a cannabis company based in New York City. The labels the company is selling include Shock Top, Breckenridge Brewery, Blue Point Brewing Company, 10 Barrel Brewing Company, Redhook Brewery, Widmer Brothers Brewing, Square Mile Cider Company, and HiBall Energy.

The Washington Examiner contacted the Walt Disney Company for comment.
