Officers responded to the home at about 9 a.m. after receiving a tip from a caller, the Drug Enforcement Administration Hartford Task Force and detectives said.
Upon arriving at Soule's home, authorities uncovered equipment for ventilation that matched that previously used in clandestine laboratories, the report noted.
A search warrant was soon obtained after Soule refused to consent to a search, and further investigation of a detached garage led detectives to find a grand mushroom-growing operation, according to the report.
The suspect initially maintained that the mushrooms were not illegal.
However, psilocybin mushrooms, commonly known as "magic mushrooms," were found inside the home, police said.
