House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) said time is ticking away before FBI Director Christopher Wray will be held in contempt of Congress.

Comer told Fox News Tonight that Wray has until Thursday at 9 a.m. to produce a subpoenaed FD-1023 document alleging a “criminal bribery scheme” involving President Joe Biden and an unnamed “foreign national.”

“It’s a very small document, and at the very top of the document, it says ‘unclassified’ in big, bold letters,” Comer said. “There’s really no reason for the FBI not to hand this document over.”

When asked if the FBI director will go to prison if he does not turn over the document, Comer said that was “up to Christopher Wray.”

“I wouldn’t want to be held in contempt of Congress and end up in prison being the former head of the FBI,” Comer said. “This is a simple request. It’s not a classified document. They acted like it didn’t even exist. So, just hand the document over.”

Comer added that the Oversight Committee has several people to bring in for depositions but that it is waiting until the FD-1023 form is in hand, calling it “important evidence.”
