House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) is asking five aides of Joe Biden to sit for transcribed interviews in front of his committee in an expansion of his investigation into the former president’s health and the use of the autopen.

Comer sent letters on Wednesday to five former Biden administration aides: Michael Donilon, former Senior Advisor to the President, Anita Dunn, former Senior Advisor to the President for Communications, Ronald Klain, former Chief of Staff, Bruce Reed, former Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy, and Steve Ricchetti, former Counselor to the President.

“These five former senior advisors were eyewitnesses to President Biden’s condition and operations within the Biden White House. They must appear before the House Oversight Committee and provide truthful answers about President Biden’s cognitive state and who was calling the shots,” Chairman James Comer (R-KY) said in a press release.

The interview requests come after the committee renewed requests from last Congress to Biden’s physician and four former aides, saying the committee plans on releasing these interview dates later this week. The witnesses will be subpoenaed by the committee if they ignore the request.

Following the release of Jake Tapper’s book, ‘Original Sin,’ Republicans have dove into their investigation into the Biden administration.

Comer has leaned into the former president’s use of autopen for pardons and executive orders, along with an investigation into the “cover-up” of his “mental decline.” The chairman called this a “historic scandal.”

“The Committee is interested in obtaining your account of former President Biden’s decline, as you were reportedly one of the five White House staffers who were “effectively family” to the former President,” Comer wrote in its letter to Reed.

“You were described as “nearly always by [former President] Biden’s side on the road” and one of the key staffers in the inner circle. The scope of your responsibilities—both official and otherwise—and personal interactions within the Oval Office cannot go without investigation,” the letter continued.
