CNN is set to hold a town hall with 2024 Republican hopeful former Vice President Mike Pence on June 7, just three days after the network is hosting a town hall with 2024 presidential candidate and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley on June 4.
CNN host Dana Bash will moderate the town hall on June 7 at 9 p.m. EDT from Grand View University in Des Moines, Iowa, home to the crucial first-in-the-nation GOP caucuses next year.
BIDEN AND REPUBLICANS BLAME EACH OTHER FOR DEFAULT THEY INSIST WON'T HAPPEN
The event comes as Pence contemplates challenging his old boss, former President Donald Trump, for the Republican 2024 presidential nomination. He previously said he would make a decision on whether to run by late June. It also comes after Trump participated in a live town hall with CNN earlier this month, to mixed results. This marks the third in the network's series of 2024 Republican presidential town halls.
Bash will grill Pence on a wide array of questions in front of a live audience of Iowa Republican voters, who are likely to vote during the caucuses. Any serious Trump challenger will need a decisive victory in the Hawkeye State to knock down Trump's hold over GOP primary voters.

The news of the CNN town hall with Pence also comes in the wake of Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) finally announcing his long-awaited presidential campaign Wednesday night during a Twitter Spaces event with Twitter's Elon Musk and moderator David Sacks.
Trump continues to dominate the GOP 2024 race and is the undisputed front-runner, leading all other challengers by double digits in polls. But DeSantis remains his chief rival in the race, a fact that has led Trump and other Republicans to attack DeSantis during his presidential campaign rollout repeatedly.
