CNN announced it will hold a town hall with 2024 Republican hopeful Nikki Haley on June 4.
Anchor Jake Tapper will moderate the live discussion with Haley in Iowa at 8 p.m. EDT as the network seeks to retool its news operation in a more neutral direction. The session marks the second in the network's series of 2024 Republican presidential town halls.

A former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations and South Carolina governor, Haley has sought to position herself as the best alternative to former President Donald Trump. She has held dozens of events in Iowa since debuting her campaign in February.
News of the town hall follows Sen. Tim Scott's (R-SC) entry into the race this week and ahead of Gov. Ron DeSantis's (R-FL) own 2024 announcement on Wednesday.
The event also comes on the heels of the controversial CNN town hall with Trump earlier this month. Liberals, including staffers at the cable news giant, slammed the network for giving him a platform.
During the live event, moderator Kaitlan Collins grilled Trump on his unfounded claims of a stolen 2020 election, the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, and a range of policy topics such as abortion.
CEO Chris Licht has reportedly stood by the network's decision to host an event with Trump, noting that he is the front-runner in the GOP primary. Privately, he has also emphasized the need to tone down the network's partisan reputation.

Shortly after Haley announced her campaign in February, she wound up in a dust-up with former CNN host Don Lemon, who chided, "Nikki Haley isn’t in her prime, sorry." Lemon has since parted ways with the network.
At the moment, Haley is polling in fourth place in the GOP primary field, per the latest RealClearPolitics polling aggregate.
