The deadline to file a claim form to receive a payout in a $3.6 million class-action settlement involving Spartan Mosquito repellent is in on Friday.
AC2T, a Mississippi-based company that manufactures Spartan Mosquito Eradicator, agreed to a settlement earlier this year to resolve false advertising claims in a lawsuit. To qualify for a payout from the Spartan Mosquito class-action settlement, consumers must have purchased products, such as Spartan Mosquito Eradicator and Spartan Mosquito Pro Tech, between Dec. 21, 2016, and Aug. 2, 2023.

Those interested in applying have until Dec. 1 to file a claim which can be filled out online here. Filers can also send a claim form by mail, which must be postmarked by the deadline. The New York Supreme Court for Kings County will hold a hearing on Monday to decide the final approval for the class-action settlement.

Multiple factors will determine the total a consumer's payout could amount to. Those without proof of purchase can file a claim for up to $7 for one qualifying Spartan Mosquito repellent per household. Those who provide proof of purchase can receive $10 per household.
AC2T was met with a class-action lawsuit after allegations that its advertising, which claimed the product would reduce mosquito populations for 15 days, was false. Plaintiffs said the company misled consumers and that the repellent did not perform as advertised. The company has not admitted wrongdoing but agreed to the settlement to resolve the lawsuit.
