Crunchyroll users have nine more days to file a claim in a $16 million settlement with the streaming service, which has been accused by some users of privacy violations.
Users of the streaming service have accused the company of disclosing their personally identifiable information to third parties without their consent. Crunchyroll has denied it violated the law but agreed to the settlement to avoid further litigation. Dec. 12 is the deadline to file a claim in the proposed settlement.

Eligible recipients of the settlement are expected to receive roughly $30, but they could get more or less than that estimate, according to documents filed with the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. The final amount will be announced once the settlement receives final approval in court.
To qualify for the settlement, a person must have been a registered user or viewed a website, app, or service owned, operated, or controlled by Crunchyroll from Sept. 8, 2020, through Sept. 20, 2023. Eligible users of the service must submit a claim online or through the mail in an envelope postmarked by Dec. 12 to qualify for a check from the settlement.
