Christine Blasey Ford is back in the national spotlight with her new book titled One Way Back: A Memoir. Democrats are happy to have her again as a topic of conversation.
Nearly six years ago, they used her as an eleventh-hour cudgel in an attempt to derail Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearings. Democrats seized upon the opportunity to label President Donald Trump‘s second Supreme Court nominee a sexual predator. It didn’t work.
Despite what leftists say, there is no evidence to back up Ford’s claims. The allegations remain, but no corroborating witness or verifiable proof has ever emerged. The obvious lack of substantiation has not hindered those who insist Kavanaugh is a rapist. Rage isn’t evidence, but it is enough to fuel support for Ford and an obsession with her. This resurgence comes during an election year when Trump is once again on the ballot. That is not a coincidence.
What took place during Kavanaugh’s nomination hearings in 2018 was a disgrace. The outrage at Ford and the Democrats was palpable and appropriate. Sexual crime is serious. A man who is responsible for it should be held accountable no matter his position in society. A woman who launches false allegations is no hero and must be held accountable for her wrongdoing. Diverging from either course harms true victims and makes it easier for predators to develop and escape justice.
It does no good to defend Trump when it comes to his documented bad behavior and language toward and concerning women. Among other severe indiscretions, Trump was found liable for sexual abuse and battery against E. Jean Carroll. But he was not convicted of rape. Neither has Kavanaugh been convicted of rape.
Needless to say, neither man is responsible for anything other than his own actions. But leftists would love nothing more than to make one of them guilty of a heinous crime and guilty by mere association. Democrats yearn for complete moral superiority against Trump, a man with weak morals at best. And Kavanaugh, a man with an unblemished record, committed a grave political error: A man Democrats truly hate chose him.
Then as now, the connection between Trump and Kavanaugh is nothing more than a professional and procedural one. They do not influence each other. Neither do they possess similar character traits. Democrats reject all of this. In 2024, they still view Kavanaugh as the worst type of criminal offender. It justifies their anger at the justice, who “dared” to vote to overturn Roe v. Wade. It justifies some of their anger at Trump, who they believe selected a man who disrespects women in the worst possible way.
Given all that has transpired in the years since Trump was elected, his current poll numbers against the Democratic incumbent look good. That’s how poorly President Joe Biden is doing. And that’s why a memoir from a woman who maintains a sitting Trump-appointed Supreme Court justice is a sexual predator just came out.
It’s not because Kavanaugh is more guilty or even guilty in the first place. According to Democrats, Trump must be stopped, Kavanaugh must always be shamed, and Ford is again the woman to do it.

As a woman, voter, and mother to two young sons, I don’t take allegations of sexual crime lightly. I have no interest in defending men who violate women even if their politics match my own. I have no interest in protecting an accuser just because we both have XX chromosomes. Unfortunately, too many are willing to play the game and do whatever they can to beat their opponents.
Democrats use Ford as a tool to damage Kavanaugh’s reputation. This time, there is the added hope another punch at Kavanaugh will damage Trump. Ford is happy to oblige. But recent history indicates the tactic will only further divide both sides.
