Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie hit former President Donald Trump on Sunday for suggesting United States aid to Israel should be separate from aid to Ukraine.

"This is Donald Trump’s bad worldview. He wants to do it and separate it because he wants to continue to coddle [Russian President Vladimir] Putin," Christie told CNN's Jake Tapper.

"This aid is connected because these attacks are connected," he explained. "There’s no doubt that Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea are all working together to try to disrupt the world and create violence."

Christie said that while the U.S. must support Israel strongly, it has to do the same for Ukraine as well.

Trump expressed his opinion on the federal aid package in an interview Saturday, saying, "You have to fight to win, and you have to support Israel."

"But I think you should do each [funding bill] individually," he said.

President Joe Biden's administration is looking to combine funding for aid for Israel and Ukraine. However, several Republicans have expressed skepticism about giving any additional aid to Ukraine.
