The White House celebrated Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day on Tuesday with a special briefing by White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt and the children of White House reporters and staff.

The Washington Examiner was well represented during the event. Hazel Jane Willis and Bobbie Lynn Willis, daughters of the Washington Examiner‘s White House reporter Haisten Willis, both asked the press secretary questions.

Bobbie Lynn, 5, asked Leavitt about White House staffing, “How many people has he [President Donald Trump] fired?”

“We have not had anyone fired with the exception of one individual who did leave their job,” Leavitt responded with a laugh, referencing former national security adviser Mike Waltz’s departure from the White House and nomination to be U.S. ambassador to the United Nations. “But we have a great team here. So far, so good. Thank you for the question.”

Later in the briefing, when Hazel Jane, 8, asked about Trump’s religion, Leavitt confirmed that Trump “is a Christian.”

“He believes in Jesus,” the press secretary added.

A number of other children in the room pressed Leavitt on a range of topics, including Trump’s candy preferences (pink Starbursts and tootsie rolls ), what he plans to do to combat “climate change,” and for updates regarding the situation at the southern border.
