Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker was spotted in the Oval Office on Thursday, meeting with President Donald Trump.
Butker’s visit comes several months after he endorsed Trump ahead of the 2024 election, telling Christians to support the Republican nominee. A White House official described the meeting as being between the “GOAT of kicking” and the “GOAT of presidents,” with GOAT being an acronym for “greatest of all time.”

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt also met the football star, taking a photo with Butker and uploading it to X.
“You never know who you’re going to see at the White House!” Leavitt wrote on X. “Great meeting Harrison Butker @buttkicker7 today!”

It’s not Butker’s first visit to the White House. He previously visited after the Chiefs won the 2023 Super Bowl during the Biden presidency. During that visit, Butker wore a tie bearing the Latin phrase “Vulnerari Praesidio,” which translates to “protect the most vulnerable,” to represent the unborn.
Butker drew media attention last year when he delivered a commencement speech at Benedictine College that included comments against former President Joe Biden and the role a woman can play in a family’s home. The speech was delivered in front of a primarily Catholic audience.

Both Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid, the team’s head coach, defended Butker’s speech, the former said he has known Butker for several years and that he is “a good person.” Likewise, Reid contended that everyone has their own opinion, which is “what’s so great about this country.”
The Chiefs lost the 2025 Super Bowl earlier this month to the Philadelphia Eagles, 40-22. Trump said during a press conference on Tuesday that the winning team will be invited to the White House, directing a staffer to start working on preparing the invite immediately.
