NextImg:Chicago votes to make Chicago horrible again

After four disastrous years under former Mayor Lori Lightfoot, the Windy City decided to elect someone who is arguably even worse. Brandon Johnson defeated supposed centrist Paul Vallas to become the next mayor of the nation's third most populated city. Johnson's election is odd, given voters signified they were tired of Lightfoot's politics. With Johnson, they are getting someone who is arguably even worse.

During his victory speech, Johnson claimed he would be a mayor who helped everyone and wanted to hear from all people, even those who did not vote for him. This is despite the fact that the left-wing extremist made unsubstantiated claims about racism a core part of his political platform.

CHICAGO MAYORAL RACE: TENSIONS HIGH AMONG CANDIDATES AND DEMOCRATS AS ELECTION NEARS

"I'll be the mayor for you, too. Because this campaign has always been about building a better, stronger, safer Chicago, for all the people of Chicago. Chicago, tonight is just the beginning," Johnson exclaimed. "With our voices and our votes, we have ushered in a new chapter in the history of our city. Tonight is a gateway to a new future for our city," he continued. "A city that's truly safer for everyone by investing in what actually works to prevent crime."

Journalist Andy Ngo recently tweeted about Brandon Johnson's past exploits and political activism. They're horrific but sadly par for the course for many Democrats today. Johnson makes Lori Lightfoot look like a Republican.

"Leftist @Brandon4Chicago has won the Chicago mayoral election against moderate Democrat Paul Vallas. Johnson calls for removing law enforcement from society," Ngo tweeted. "During the 2020 riots, he defended looters, saying they were lashing out against racism. Chicago's violent crime has surged over the last few years under Lori Lightfoot."

Ngo posted press clippings of some of Johnson's comments as evidence to support his tweet.

During an interview in 2020, when Johnson was asked about the chaos and anarchy in Chicago's streets from the constant rioting over the death of George Floyd, Johnson wasn't a supporter of all Chicagoans then. Instead, he took the criminal protesters' side and justified it as "an outbreak of incredible frustration and anguish" tied to a "failed racist system."

Keep in mind, Derek Chauvin, the officer convicted of murdering Floyd, was never charged with a hate crime. There was never any proof that the incident had anything to do with race.

Additionally, Johnson also previously called for the abolishment of contemporary policing. Regarding the policing of the city and protecting innocent people from crime, while speaking on a panel titled, "We Don't Call Police: A Town Hall on a Police-Free Future," Johnson said, "Part of it is removing ourselves away from this, you know, state-sponsored policing, but also the tools that have been placed against black folks that have been used violently, whether it's policing, or administering standardized tests, or … around how white supremacy finds its way in every facet of our lives, that we have to fight and resist that."

Johnson is a left-wing extremist wolf in sheep's clothing, and the foolish voters of Chicago fell for the trick. He campaigned on being a mayor for all the people, but that's typical left-wing doublespeak, meaning "mayor for a select few groups who claim they are oppressed and marginalized." All the city's constituents did was vote to make Chicago horrible again.
