President Donald Trump announced on Friday morning that the suspect in Charlie Kirk‘s murder has been captured.
“I think with a high degree of certainty, we have him in custody,” Trump told the audience during an appearance on Fox & Friends.

“Everyone did a great job. We worked with the local police, the governor. Everybody did a great job,” Trump added.
The suspect was turned in by those close to him, Trump added.

The unidentified gunman shot the 31-year-old Kirk while he was speaking at the Utah Valley University campus on Wednesday. The FBI released a photo on Thursday of a “person of interest” and offered a $100,000 award.
The announcement comes one day after Trump told reporters he would attend Kirk’s funeral after he returns from a preplanned trip to the United Kingdom next week.
