Friday night’s WNBA matchup between the Indiana Fever and Atlanta Dream drew a record-setting crowd, eager to watch the highly-touted rookie that captivated the sports world in the previous two women’s NCAA tournaments.

The Fever’s Caitlin Clark, along with rising star Aliyah Boston and all-star Kelsey Mitchell, went head-to-head against the Dream in a sell-out game, with 17,575 fans in attendance.

The Dream usually plays in a 3,500-seat arena, but with Clark coming to town, the game was moved to State Farm Arena, where the NBA’s Atlanta Hawks play.

Clark and Indiana beat the Dream by a score of 91-79 for their seventh win of the year. The Fever is breathing down the Dream’s neck in the standings, as just a half-game separates the two teams, which currently hold the final two playoff spots nearly halfway through the regular season.

With an efficient shooting night, going 6-of-12 from the floor, including 4-of-8 from three-point range, Clark tallied 16 points, 4 rebounds, and 7 assists in the Fever victory.

Clark and the Fever started off the season slow, losing their first five games, but have since rebounded to a respectable record and look to hit a new gear with the second half of the season around the corner.
