Brigitte Macron plans to provide scientific and photographic evidence in a U.S. court disproving claims shared by right-wing influencer Candace Owens that she is actually a man.
The evidence will be submitted as part of a defamation lawsuit against Owens by Macron and her husband, French President Emmanuel Macron. Tom Clare, a lawyer for the Macrons, announced the news on Thursday in an interview with BBC podcast Fame Under Fire.

Clare said there would be “expert testimony that will come out that will be scientific in nature” without elaborating on the details. However, he added that the Macrons are prepared to fully demonstrate “both generically and specifically” that the transgender allegations are false.
“It is incredibly upsetting to think that you have to go and subject yourself to put this type of proof forward,” he continued.
Owens has said the first lady is a biological male who later transitioned to a female. She also dedicated an eight-part investigative series on her YouTube channel and podcast to the topic. Owens once said she would stake her “entire professional reputation” on the allegations that Brigitte Macron is a man.
Clare said the claims have taken a toll on the Macron family, serving as a “distraction” to the French president.
“I don’t want to suggest that it somehow has thrown him off his game,” Clare said. “But just like anybody who is juggling a career and a family life as well, when your family is under attack, it wears on you. And he’s not immune from that because he’s the president of a country.”
He also noted Brigitte Macron is “100% ready to meet” the burden of setting the record straight on her biological sex.
“It is a process that she will have to subject herself to in a very public way,” Clare said. “But she’s willing to do it. She is firmly resolved to do what it takes to set the record straight.”
The newly teased evidence will likely include photos of the first lady pregnant and raising her children, which would be the easiest way to disprove Owens’s claims. Clare said the pictures exist and will be presented in court.
MACRON POINTS OUT PERCEIVED FREE SPEECH HYPOCRISY OVER CANDACE OWENS LAWSUIT
In July, the Macrons sued Owens for defaming their name by promoting the theory. The lawsuit states Owens used the statement to “promote her independent platform, gain notoriety, and make money.” Owens’s lawyers responded with a motion to dismiss the complaint filed in Delaware.
Owens has repeatedly defended her statement and even said the Macrons are “blood relatives committing incest” and are “committing forgery, fraud, and abuses of power to conceal these secrets,” according to the 219-page lawsuit. She has argued the case is a free speech issue, though neither defamation nor libel is considered protected speech under the First Amendment.
