Former Utah House Speaker Brad Wilson has no plans to hit the brakes on his run for Senate as he has released a new ad to critique President Joe Biden and even some Republican lawmakers.
The new ad, titled “Full Throttle,” features Wilson driving a red 1966 Chevrolet on a highway while speeding past a blue 1967 Corvette with a Biden license plate, a reference to Biden’s personal vehicle being a ’67 Corvette. The ad also specifically bashes “RINO” Republicans, an acronym meaning “Republican in name only.”
“He’ll take on Joe Biden’s agenda, full throttle, and leave the cowardly RINOs who appease him in the dust,” the ad’s narrator says.
Wilson is running for the Utah Senate seat that is presently occupied by Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT), who announced last year that he would not seek reelection.
The former Utah House speaker ran his first ad in December, which was titled “Utah Way.” In this ad, Wilson vowed to be a conservative “with the guts to get the job done.”

The Senate race has become incredibly crowded, with Rep. John Curtis (R-UT), Brent Orrin Hatch, and Mayor Trent Staggs of Riverton, Utah, among the candidates in the Republican Party’s primary. Staggs was the first candidate to announce his run for Romney’s seat, and he has received the backing of several vocal Republicans, including Mark Levin, Harmeet Dhillon, and Charlie Kirk.
The primary election for the Utah Senate seat will be held on June 25, 2024.
