U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers seized more than $2.1 million worth of cocaine at the Del Rio Port of Entry last week.

The seizure took place on April 12 when officers selected a tractor-trailer at the Del Rio International Bridge for non-intrusive inspection, according to a Tuesday release by CBP.

The tractor-trailer claimed to be transporting a shipment of rocks, but officers found at least 63 packages containing a total of 163 pounds of cocaine hidden under the vehicle's floor, CBP said.

"Our CBP officers have been doing outstanding work and are committed to preventing these dangerous drugs from entering our country," Port Director Liliana Flores said.

"This interception is a fine example of the work they do to protect our communities."

Following the seizure, CBP handed the case over to Homeland Security Investigations, where special agents are conducting a further examination.
