College basketball coach Bob Knight has died at 83 years old.

Knight holds the record for winning the fifth-most NCAA basketball games, at 903. He became famous both for his successful record and infamous temper, testing the limits of the league in countless outbursts on and off the court. He died at home surrounded by his family, according to a statement posted on his website.

"It is with heavy hearts that we share that Coach Bob Knight passed away at his home in Bloomington surrounded by his family," the statement read.

"We are grateful for all the thoughts and prayers, and appreciate the continued respect for our privacy as Coach requested a private family gathering, which is being honored. We will continue to celebrate his life and remember him, today and forever as a beloved Husband, Father, Coach, and Friend."

While a cause of death wasn't given, the statement asked for memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Association or Marian University instead of flowers.

Knight was also an outspoken supporter of former President Donald Trump, speaking at many of his rallies.
