Tensions between Vice President Kamala Harris and Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) appeared to cool after the pair were seen smiling together at a bipartisan dinner hosted by the vice president earlier this week.

Rumors of a strained relationship first emerged after it was reported that Harris was not returning phone calls that Warren had made back in January. Warren attempted to call the vice president twice to apologize for comments she made during a radio interview in which she appeared to suggest President Joe Biden should pick another running mate in 2024.
KAMALA HARRIS NOT RETURNING CALLS TO ELIZABETH WARREN: REPORT
“I really want to defer to what makes Biden comfortable on his team,” Warren said in the January interview.
The Massachusetts senator attempted to call Harris to apologize, but Harris did not return her calls, according to CNN.
However, the two were seen together at a bipartisan dinner hosted by Harris on Tuesday night at the U.S. Naval Observatory that featured a number of female senators. Invites to the event were sent out well over a month ago, and it follows a long-running Senate tradition, according to the Hill.
But the dinner also had another goal of squashing rumors that the two were in a standoff.

“No one was benefiting from this,” one source told the outlet. “They had to get rid of it.”
The rumors come as whispers have circulated on Capitol Hill about whether Harris is a strong candidate to run with Biden should he choose to seek another term. Warren later issued a statement after the interview, stressing she stood behind a Biden-Harris ticket in 2024 and never "intended to imply otherwise."
