NextImg:Biden’s Gaza pier debacle is representative of his presidency - Washington Examiner

Parts of President Joe Biden’s Gaza aid pier are now adrift at sea, making it a perfect symbol of his presidency and reelection campaign.

Two of the vessels being used for the pier became unmoored and drifted away, washing up on the coast of Israel. The damage has caused a temporary suspension in aid, which sounds worse than it is because, according to the Pentagon last week, it wasn’t likely that any of the aid that arrived through the pier had even been distributed to civilians in the first place.

Evidently, $320 million in taxpayer dollars doesn’t go as far as it used to. Perhaps we can consider that another effect of “Bidenflation.”

The pier debacle has thus far been perfectly representative of Biden’s term in office. He decided to do something that sounds morally righteous while ignoring all the very real obstacles that make his goal impossible, put U.S. soldiers in harm’s way to do it, wasted millions in taxpayer dollars, and inadvertently helped terrorists, all for the final result to be a shoddily done project that is falling apart at the seams.

“Falling apart at the seams” also applies to Biden’s campaign, which Democrats are now freaking out over despite the fact that they refused to indulge any serious primary challenges, even though it has been obvious that Biden would be a weak candidate. Biden’s age was never going to get any lower, inflation kept driving prices higher, and Biden’s approval rating has been abysmal going back to his botched Afghanistan withdrawal, which put U.S. soldiers in harm’s way, lost billions of dollars’ worth of military equipment, and allowed the Taliban to retake control of Afghanistan. Sound familiar?

Biden has handled just about every problem that has come before him with a level of stunning incompetence that is only a surprise if you forgot he was still Joe Biden. If nothing else, the fantastical Gaza pier idea and its entirely predictable execution are further proof that Biden never should have become president in the first place. His four years in office seem to have reminded voters of that fact, which is why they look poised to rectify it in November.
