


President Joe Biden will nominate Julie Su to be the next labor secretary after a push for greater representation of Asian Americans in his Cabinet, according to reports.
Su, the Senate-confirmed deputy secretary of labor, will replace Marty Walsh, who is leaving Biden's administration to become the next executive director of the National Hockey League Players' Association, Politico reported Tuesday.

Earlier this month, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre downplayed the importance of picking an Asian Pacific American for the post.
