NextImg:Biden's blueprint for failure

President Joe Biden and his team apparently think the best way for him to win reelection would be to flip Florida … by saying the state is extreme and a bad place to live.

According to Edward-Isaac Dovere, “Biden advisers believe they can hold up what the GOP governor calls his ‘Florida blueprint’ as a warning to the country about what would happen if DeSantis or any other Republican wins the White House in 2024.” They list abortion, DeSantis’s battle with Disney, parental rights in education, the Second Amendment, illegal immigration, and DeSantis’s “consistent railing over ‘woke’ politics” as winning matters Biden can capitalize on.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT TIM SCOTT AHEAD OF HIS BIG 2024 ANNOUNCEMENT

The key line from Dovere is that Biden’s advisers and other top Democratic officials “believe the Florida governor’s record may give them a chance at the state’s 30 electoral votes.” If that is the case, Republicans should hope those advisers and officials run every Democratic campaign for the rest of time because it is utterly delusional.

We have already seen what happens when DeSantis’s record is tested in Florida. In 2018, he won his initial election by just 0.4 points, or under 33,000 votes. After four years on the job, DeSantis and his record faced voters last November. He won by over 1.5 million votes. His 19.4-point victory was a larger margin than Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) won by.

Florida gained another 319,000 people in 2022, the biggest increase of any state in the country. Democrats had a voter registration lead in Florida up until 2021. By the time of DeSantis’s reelection, Republicans had a 306,000 voter lead. That lead is continuing to increase, with Republicans up to a 473,000 voter lead as of last month.

You could maybe argue that the “Florida blueprint” wouldn’t play well nationally, though even that would be dubious. But it is indisputable that the Florida blueprint is wildly popular in Florida, unless Florida’s population was suddenly entirely replaced by California’s in the past six months. Florida is less of a swing state in a 2024 presidential election than, say, Minnesota or Virginia. At this point, it may not be a swing state at all under any foreseeable circumstances.

Biden and his team have proven time and again that they are run by social media, with everything from their warped perspectives about sex changes for “transgender” children to fabricated crimes by Border Patrol agents coming from hysterical journalists on social media. If Biden genuinely believes Florida is in play, it is the result of listening to the same journalists frantically trying to discredit DeSantis who say Florida is a fascist dumpster fire, which they are the only ones to believe.
