President Joe Biden emphatically stated that the United States will remain a North Atlantic Treaty Organization member, despite any "political volatility" surrounding or following the upcoming presidential election.
Biden joined Finnish Prime Minister Sauli Niinisto for a joint press conference Thursday following his week-long trip to Europe, where he faced questions about instability in the U.S. and the failure of Congress to pass legislation that would prevent future presidents from withdrawing from NATO.

"I absolutely guarantee it. There is no question," the president said when asked for "reassurances" of U.S. support. "There's overwhelming support from the American people. There's overwhelming support from the members of Congress, both House and Senate, in both parties, notwithstanding the fact that there are extreme elements of one party.
"As sure as anything can possibly be said about American foreign policy, we will stay connected to NATO," Biden added. "Connected to NATO beginning, middle, and end. We're a transatlantic partnership."
