President Joe Biden was interrupted on Thursday by a heckler calling for a ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas war.
Biden was in Belvidere, Illinois, to rally with United Auto Workers members celebrating a new contract. But just minutes into Biden's speech, a member of the crowd began shouting at the president.

"You need to call for a ceasefire in Gaza!" a woman could be heard shouting. The crowd quickly drowned her out, and she was escorted out of the room.

"Get 'em out! Get 'em out!" one person could be heard yelling in response to the protester. Biden remained calm but did not substantively engage with the demand before continuing his speech.
The incident comes in contrast to another that occurred last week when the president responded to a protester by saying a pause could be in order.
"I think we need a pause. A pause means give time to get the prisoners out," he said when a Reconstructionist rabbi interrupted a Nov. 2 speech.
Biden was also asked about the possibility of a ceasefire by a reporter on the White House South Lawn before departing for Illinois on Thursday morning.
"What are the chances of a Gaza ceasefire?" the reporter said.
"None," Biden responded. "No possibility."
