The Washington Examiner’s Tiana Lowe Doescher suggested President Joe Biden could lose votes this November due to his failure to live up to his campaign promises.

Lowe Doescher appeared on Your World with Neil Cavuto on Thursday to discuss Biden’s chance of reelection in comparison to that of his opponent, former President Donald Trump. As Biden’s presidency began during the coronavirus pandemic, Lowe Doescher pointed out that the cost of living still hasn’t returned to pre-pandemic levels.

“Joe Biden did not deliver the return to normalcy and the … return to norms that he promised. All we’ve gotten more is economic chaos, global chaos,” Lowe Doescher said.

With a week left until the first debate between Trump and Biden, Lowe Doescher advised that Trump focus on these failures of the Biden administration.

“But Trump can sometimes be his own worst enemy,” Lowe Doescher said. “If he tries to make it about litigating his own personal issues: 2020 election, the legal woes. Look, cleaning out the FBI should be a bipartisan consensus issue, but if it’s just about him, if it’s not about how he’s going to improve America, then Joe Biden in his own boring way could have more of an appeal.”

Trump has long-contested the results of the 2020 election that declared Biden the winner, suggesting there as election interference. Next month, he will be sentenced in relation to his conviction on 34 counts of falsifying business records, a case that many Republicans have criticized as an effort to keep Trump off the campaign trail. Three days after the sentencing, the Republican Party will have its national convention, at which time the former president is presumed to be named the party’s presidential nominee regardless of whether or not he is in prison.

Biden announced last month that he would participate in two debates against Trump, which will be hosted by CNN and ABC News. The first debate is slated for June 27.
