While campaigning for president, Joe Biden regularly criticized then-President Donald Trump for allegedly being dishonest and spreading misinformation. He made it a staple of his campaign in 2020, and counting the number of lies Trump supposedly told became common practice among Biden, his acolytes, Democrats, and the legacy media. A dishonest president that was a threat to democracy was the narrative Democrats wanted to create.
Yet, regarding Biden’s incessant lying, such concerns are nowhere to be found. Biden is given clearance to regularly be dishonest with the public, with the legacy media treating him much differently than they treated Trump. Biden can tell any lie he wants to — and he has done so in the last three years — and the same people who were outraged over Trump are conspicuously quiet about Biden. Look no further than this recent Biden campaign ad that could only be described as a masterclass in dishonesty.
During a recent campaign ad, the narrator makes several false claims about Trump, including the assertions that Trump said he would be a “dictator” during his second term and the oft-repeated yet debunked claim that the former president said there would be a “bloodbath” if he did not win the 2024 election. These statements were misrepresented and portrayed significantly out of context. But this kind of dishonesty is par for the course for the Biden administration.
These statements were convoluted and manipulated by the left-wing political machine to create hyperbolic hysteria and fear about Trump. It’s not a new strategy from Democrats, mind you. It’s not even a new strategy from Biden. Every Republican presidential candidate is portrayed as evil incarnate and the second coming of the antichrist. Trump may be the year’s villain now, but who can forget the vitriol directed at then-candidate for president Mitt Romney in 2012? They have been doing this for decades. Scaring their political base is at the root of Democratic politics.
However, a president’s honesty was also supposed to be at the root of Democratic politics — at least it was in 2020. By now, everyone is familiar with the myriad of attacks against Trump’s supposed lack of trustworthiness. Yet, as mentioned above (and as Biden’s campaign so clearly demonstrated), the standards applied to Trump do not apply to Biden. This one-sided weaponization of fear is problematic and, ultimately, unfair — especially when it comes from the legacy media.
Biden and the Democrats never cared about presidents or politicians being truthful. The objective was to convince people that Trump was a liar so they could mask their subterfuge and duplicity. It’s Orwellian at its core and an integral part of the strategy of authoritarian and totalitarian regimes throughout history: deceiving the public to be outraged at the political opponents of the very thing the people in power are doing.

Biden is dishonest and untrustworthy. His campaign commercials are the latest indicator of that. They are rooted in hatred, anger, fear, corruption, and manipulation. He is the kind of political leader the nation’s Founding Fathers wanted to protect against.
If Trump’s sins were so bad, the Biden campaign shouldn’t have to make up lies to try to discredit him. The fact that they resorted to such deceptive tactics reveals everything one needs to know about Democrats and the Biden administration.
