President Joe Biden spoke with Britain's King Charles III over the phone Tuesday, congratulating him on his pending coronation.
The call was not mentioned on Biden's daily schedule, with the White House releasing a summary in the late afternoon.

Biden underscored "the strength of the relationship between our countries and the friendship between our peoples" during the call, according to the White House.
The president told Charles that first lady Jill Biden will attend the coronation on behalf of the United States and said he hopes to meet with the king in the United Kingdom soon.
Charles became king last September following the death of his mother, the beloved Queen Elizabeth II, who had served since 1952. Biden attended Elizabeth's funeral in London.
"She was the same in person as her image: decent, honorable, and all about service,” the president said of Elizabeth during the trip. "It’s a loss that leaves a giant hole, and sometimes you think you’ll never overcome it. But, as I’ve told the king, she’s gonna be with him every step of the way, every minute, every moment, and a reassuring notion."
