President Joe Biden’s reelection campaign announced a massive ad buy Saturday morning.

The 16-week $25 million advertising campaign will run in several battleground markets, including Arizona, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, while one of the ads targets Hispanic voters and another focuses on black voters. The ads will focus on the president's economic policies, which his administration has touted as "Bidenomics."

“As Republicans head to the debate stage next week to put on display their extreme and out-of-touch positions, we are investing in reaching Americans across the country with President Biden and Vice President Harris’ message for the middle class and for Americans’ fundamental freedoms,” Julie Chavez Rodriguez, Biden's campaign manager, said.

“This historic buy ensures that the President’s message reaches all Americans where they receive their news, and sends a clear sign that we are investing in an aggressive, meaningful, and effective paid media strategy," she continued. "While Republicans duke it out in Milwaukee over their divisive and unpopular agenda, President Biden is amplifying his winning message and leadership as a president for all Americans.”

These ads will run during NFL Kickoff and the World Series, while they will also be featured on platforms like YouTube Reserve, Hulu, and Connected TV. The campaign will also utilize Instagram and YouTube Shorts.

The Labor Department reported a couple of days ago the number of new applications for unemployment benefits unexpectedly dropped by 11,000 to 239,000 last week. The labor market has far outperformed the forecasts of most economists and jobless claims, which are one of the most reactive metrics to the health of the job market.

Only 36% of United States adults said they approve of Biden’s handling of the economy, according to a new AP-NORC poll. The figure is lower than the 42% that approve Biden's performance overall, though these numbers are not a significant departure from where they stood in recent months, despite the administration's recent attempts to highlight improvements in the economy.
