There has still been no public apology by the Biden administration for smearing Border Patrol agents as racists who assaulted illegal immigrants as President Joe Biden and Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas are still floundering on the border crisis.
On Wednesday, Mayorkas met privately with the Border Patrol agents that he and Biden joined with the media in accusing of whipping illegal immigrants. At the time, Mayorkas said that agents on horseback “cannot weaponize a horse” and that the “horrifying images” that did not show them whipping illegal immigrants “troubled me profoundly” and represented “systemic racism.” Biden said that the agents “will pay” for their perceived actions.
And yet, the images only showed the agents using reins to control their horses. Even the photographer who took the pictures said he didn’t see anyone whipped by anything during the encounters he captured. The agents were simply trying to enforce the law and provide some semblance of order on the border after Biden and Mayorkas left them to fend for themselves.
An investigation ultimately, and quietly, cleared the agents. Neither Biden nor Mayorkas ever apologized publicly for smearing the people they expect to work for them to secure the border. Mayorkas reportedly did not apologize on Wednesday either in his private meeting with the accused agents, despite implying that they were racist as their faces were broadcast to the entire country.
Biden and Mayorkas both threw people under the bus for trying to do their jobs, jobs that have been made more difficult by Biden's and Mayorkas’s policies, and smeared them to satisfy Democrats and media outlets who want to paint Border Patrol as an evil, racist organization. Both Biden and Mayorkas are cowards who are incapable of admitting their mistakes, and both are unfit to be leaders in any capacity.
