President Joe Biden has “almost” recovered from his second case of COVID-19, according to his doctor, a day after he suspended his 2024 reelection campaign.

“President Biden completed his tenth dose of PAXLOVID this morning,” Dr. Kevin O’Connor wrote in a memo Monday. “His symptoms have almost resolved completely. His pulse, blood pressure, respiratory rate, and temperature remain absolutely normal. His oxygen saturation continues to be excellent on room air. His lungs remain clear.”

“The president continues to perform all of his presidential duties,” he added.

The White House did not respond to the Washington Examiner‘s request for comment regarding whether Biden was still testing positive for COVID-19.

The update on Biden’s health comes almost 24 hours after he wrote his own letter to the public, advising the United States that he is no longer seeking a second term before endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris to succeed him in a separate social media post.

“My fellow Democrats, I have decided not to accept the nomination and to focus all my energies on my duties as president for the remainder of my term,” he wrote. “My very first decision as the party nominee in 2020 was to pick Kamala Harris as my vice president. And it’s been the best decision I’ve made. Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year. Democrats — it’s time to come together and beat Trump. Let’s do this.”

In his original letter, Biden previewed that he would address the nation about his decision three months before the election.

Biden has been recovering at Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, since announcing his diagnosis before he was supposed to appear at a Latino voter event in Las Vegas, Nevada, while the Republican National Convention commenced in Milwaukee.
