The House Oversight Committee has lined up dates for interviews with former President Joe Biden’s aides as part of an investigation into whether his declining health while in office made him incapable of running the country.
The committee will conduct four interviews from June 24 through July 18 with four former aides who will appear voluntarily for transcribed interviews. House Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-KY) also subpoenaed Biden’s physician, Kevin O’Connor, to appear for a deposition on July 27.

The four transcribed interviews will be conducted by former Director of the Domestic Policy Council Neera Tanden on June 24, former Assistant to the President and Senior Advisor to the first lady Anthony Bernal on June 26, former Special Assistant to the President and Deputy Director of Oval Office Operations Ashley Williams on July 11, and former Assistant to the President and Deputy chief of staff Annie Tomasini on July 18.
Comer requested transcribed interviews from these former aides and his physician last month, “As part of the investigation into the cover-up of President Joe Biden’s mental decline and potentially unauthorized use of autopen for sweeping pardons and other executive actions.”
“The cover-up of President Biden’s obvious mental decline is a historic scandal,” Comer said in a press release last month. “The American people deserve to know when this decline began, how far it progressed, and who was making critical decisions on his behalf. Key executive actions signed by autopen, such as sweeping pardons for the Biden Crime Family, must be examined considering President Biden’s diminished capacity.”
The committee expanded the investigation earlier this month and requested five more Biden aides to participate in transcribed interviews. These dates have not yet been set.

Following the release of Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson’s book Original Sin: President Biden’s Decline, Its Cover-Up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again, Republicans have escalated investigations into the Biden administration and whether aides shielded the president from the public to cover up his decline. Biden recently revealed a diagnosis of an aggressive form of prostate cancer, fueling more concern about whether the White House was transparent with his health.
Last week, President Donald Trump ordered his White House counsel and the Department of Justice to investigate Biden’s use of an autopen to sign many presidential actions, while the Senate also investigates Biden’s health decline while in office. While using autopen for official business is not uncommon and has been used by past presidents, investigators want to know whether Biden was fully aware of the actions done in his name.
