Former Biden aide Stefanie Feldman was revealed as the manager of the White House autopen as investigations into the former administration continue.

Feldman, a longtime staffer for Biden, was revealed to be the operator of the autopen as multiple investigations have been launched by the GOP to investigate if the former president knew what the autopen was being used for, according to emails obtained by The New York Times.

This comes as House Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-KY) has launched an extensive investigation into the use of the autopen and the “cover-up” of Biden’s “mental decline.” Two former Biden aides have been interviewed behind closed doors since the investigation began.

His physician, Kevin O’Connor, invoked his Fifth Amendment when he appeared for his deposition following his subpoena. The investigation will consist of many more closed-door interviews over the next few months. Once the investigation concludes, the transcribed interviews will be made public.

Feldman has not yet been asked to appear before the committee’s majority and minority counsel for a transcribed interview. Republicans dove into this investigation following the release of Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson’s book, ‘Original Sin.’ Feldman was not named in the book, leaving her off the radar of Biden’s inner circle before the emails were obtained.

Feldman’s role in the Biden administration

According to Feldman’s LinkedIn, she began working for Biden during the Obama administration, where she worked on the policy team for the vice president’s office.

After Trump took office the first time, she began working at the University of Delaware for the Biden Institute, serving as the policy director. When Biden launched his fourth presidential campaign, Feldman then served as the policy director for his campaign before moving over to the transition team to serve as a senior policy adviser to the president.

Feldman served as the director of the Office of Gun Violence Prevention from September 2023, when Biden opened it, until he left office in January of this year. The Trump administration closed the office on inauguration day.

BIDEN AUTOPEN USE IN DC WAS MORE WIDESPREAD THAN PREVIOUSLY KNOWN

The New York Times reported that administration aides would deliver Biden’s oral decisions as “blurbs,” drafted by aides who had spoken to senior officials who had participated in the president’s meetings. The final versions of these “blurbs” would then be sent to Feldman, with meeting participants copied.

Previous Oversight investigation

If Feldman were to get brought into Oversight’s investigation into the Biden administration, this would not be her first run-in with Comer.

The chairman subpoenaed her last year for her role as director of the Office of Gun Violence Prevention, looking at a potential “collaboration between the Biden-Harris Administration and anti-Second Amendment plaintiffs.” Feldman did not appear before the committee after the Biden administration blocked her testimony.

THE LONG HISTORY AND CONTROVERSY OF PRESIDENTIAL AUTOPEN USE

“The Committee has learned that on December 20, 2023, the White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention met privately with representatives from Glock, during which the Administration requested that Glock change their pistol designs,” Comer wrote to Feldman.

“Plaintiff’s counsel has publicly shared details of a private meeting that your office had with Glock, Inc., the defendant in the lawsuit, which raises serious concerns about whether you or your staff abused the authority of your office and committed ethical violations by colluding with outside parties to initiate a lawsuit against a politically disfavored private entity.”

House Oversight did not comment to the Washington Examiner on this issue.

What Feldman is doing now

Following the Democrats’ losses in November, Feldman began working at a consulting firm, “helping corporate and non-profit leaders understand and prepare for the Trump administration’s actions.”

She also started a Substack in April of this year, where she writes about her time in the Biden administration, what Democrats can do differently in 2026 and 2028, Biden’s policy shift, and more.

HOUSE OVERSIGHT INVESTIGATION INTO BIDEN AUTOPEN USE PLOWS AHEAD WITH MORE WITNESSES

“I do not see much writing by people who have experience developing a presidential campaign policy agenda or implementing policy in the federal government,” she wrote in her first post. “I want to contribute my perspective, informed by my prior campaign and government work, as we collectively try to figure out the way forward for Democrats.”

Feldman did not respond to the Washington Examiner for comment.
