NextImg:Be wary of the Biden administration's 'responsible AI' strategy

The key risks associated with artificial intelligence , at least pertaining to AI and the public square, are the personal and political biases of those in charge of it.

Consider what's happening right now as the Biden administration , led by Vice President Kamala Harris , attempts to rein in AI platforms, including Meta Facebook, OpenAI, Google, and Apple. The Biden administration has adopted the Orwellian terminology of "responsible AI" to oversee how AI is implemented. Per Axios : "The White House launched new artificial intelligence initiatives Tuesday, announcing efforts around the research, development and deployment of 'responsible AI.'"

The Biden administration also intends to make "AI's impact on equity and civil rights and how existing law can be updated to account for it" a central focus. The warped definition of equity has overtaken equality not just for the Biden administration but for much of the Left. This understanding has been redefining everything from immigration to criminal prosecution.

A politicized actor taking over AI and shaping it for their own use would have far-reaching ramifications. Indeed, this portends another front in the effort to control information the Left deems unfavorable or "disinformation." Is this concern hypothetical?

I think not. Consider that many of the same actors who censored news stories about Hunter Biden's laptop shortly before the 2020 election would also have a hand in shaping AI content.

We should be wary.
