When asked who she thought the Democratic Party should nominate for president in 2028, Streisand paused before answering.

“Boy, that’s a really hard question. I can’t answer that. That’s complicated. We feel complicated,” she said. “I feel the world is in chaos. Our country is the worst of the chaos, I think. I’m so sad for what’s happening. So sad.”

When asked whether she thought the country might see its first woman president in her lifetime, Streisand responded, “I don’t know about in my lifetime, but certainly in my son’s lifetime.”

During President Donald Trump’s first term, Streisand often expressed alarm at his leadership style, policies, and rhetoric.

In previous interviews and public comments, Streisand said Trump made her feel “anxious and heartbroken,” even admitting she considered leaving the country.

“He has no facts. I don’t know, I can’t believe it,” she said in a 2016 interview on Australia’s 60 Minutes. “I’m either coming to your country, if you’ll let me in, or Canada.”

In 2017, Streisand blamed Trump for her weight gain, saying she coped with the stress of reading morning news about him by eating pancakes “smothered in maple syrup.”

Streisand, a lifelong Democrat and outspoken political voice, has been a vocal critic of Trump for years.
