


August’s Supplemental Security Income payment, worth up to $967, is set to go out to recipients in 26 days.
SSI payments are typically distributed at the beginning of every month. They are given to beneficiaries who have limited income and are blind, 65 and older, or have a qualifying disability.

The amount beneficiaries will receive will vary based on several factors, such as how many people are filing. Individuals will receive up to $967, couples filing together can receive $1,450, and essential people providing necessary care to SSI recipients can receive up to $484.
Since January, SSI payments have increased by 2.5% to keep pace with inflation.
Beyond the previous prerequisites for receiving SSI payments, recipients must also be either citizens of the United States or noncitizens in one of the migrant classifications granted by the Department of Homeland Security.

Additionally, they must live in one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, or the Northern Mariana Islands, and must also not be absent from the United States for a full calendar month or 30 consecutive days.
