The first debate for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination is scheduled for Aug. 23 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, but former President Donald Trump has yet to confirm if he will be onstage.

Voters appear torn over whether or not they want the front-runner to show up and debate his rivals, so we hit the National Mall in Washington to ask locals and tourists if they want to see Trump go toe-to-toe with his challengers.

BIDEN TO TRAVEL TO MAUI TO MEET WITH FIRST RESPONDERS AND SURVIVORS OF WILDFIRES

"Yeah! Absolutely!" one man said. "If he feels that he has to plead his case to people, then that is what he should do, and, if he just wants to get on and talk trash ... he can do that, too."

"I'd love to see him debate," another man said. "If he's going to be their forerunner, absolutely. I think he has to answer questions not only to the other candidates but to his constituents about these charges that are going on."

Most people wanted to see Trump take the stage in Milwaukee, but not everyone wanted him to present his platform.

"First, I'd like to hear an apology from him for tearing our country apart, which I know will never happen," one woman said. "Then, tell us that he's decided not to run for president."

Healthcare, LGBT rights, the border, and abortion were among the major topics that voters wanted to hear the former president address.

"Other than saying, 'Make America Great Again,' he has to say what he wants to do and undo the things that our current president has put into place," according to one man.

President Joe Biden has "wasted entirely too much money, and the taxpayers, which I have been one for 60 years, are having to pay for," he added. "I'd like to see my tax dollars go to something besides people who are sitting on their butt not working."
