Former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson brushed off concerns over his low polling numbers, arguing that it was too early in the 2024 presidential race to make any final calls.

The Republican presidential candidate is currently far behind in polling, with former President Donald Trump and Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) taking up nearly all support. However, in an interview on MSNBC, Hutchinson dismissed concerns that he had no chance at winning the nomination, arguing that it was much too early to tell.

"First of all, it's very early, the dust has not settled from people entering the race, so the voters are going to figure that out," the former governor stated.

He went on to tout his extensive experience, arguing that it was unmatched.

"Secondly, you look at my experience; there is not anyone that has the depth of experience that I have at both being governor, balancing a budget, but also in Congress balancing a budget, and then leading extraordinary important agencies, protecting our homeland, working on the crisis of a drug overdose in America, national security issues," Hutchinson continued. "These are experiences that America needs when you look at border security, whenever you look at the challenge of crime in our cities and in our country. My background fits perfectly with that."

He then gave a tease about the future of his campaign, saying he was eager to share his unique vision of the United States.

"I look forward to talking about my vision for America, that includes more energy production, that includes more safety, enforcing the rule of law, strengthening our economy, and controlling federal spending," Hutchinson said.

Two recent polls from Fox News and Quinnipiac, both taken from May 19-22, had Hutchinson polling at 0%.
