The Wilderness Society, an environmental nonprofit group critical of the first and second Trump administrations, is partnered with a web novel service that offers a wide array of smut, including some content containing depictions of rape and incest.
BabelNovel is a platform offering users a library of sexually explicit e-books, with many of them being partially locked behind paywalls. Readers are prompted to purchase tokens from the website and spend them on unlocking full web novels. BabelNovel maintains a partnership with the Wilderness Society wherein users can agree to make monthly donations of at least $20 to the environmental nonprofit and, in exchange, receive a large number of tokens that can be redeemed for smut novels.
Explicit e-books available on BabelNovel include titles such as Barren Mother Gives Birth To Sextuplets To The Hot CEO, Mated To The Alpha King, and The Billionaire Stripper’s Bargain, among many others.
One book, dubbed Wild Epic Sexcapades, promises to “get your blood pumping and your ovaries twitching.” Werewolf-themed sex novels are especially popular on the website, as are titles featuring billionaires and mafia bosses.
BabelNovel also has a darker side.
Multiple e-books it hosts contain nonconsensual and incestuous content. Multiple titles featured prominently on the company’s website center on sex slavery and incest.
“When Arianna is sold off as a sex slave to an auction house she realizes that her life would never be the same again,” the description of one such story reads. “To make it worse, she is bought and given to the ruthless mafia king, Gabriele Andino.”
The Wilderness Society is not a minor organization. As of 2023, it controlled nearly $112 million in assets, according to tax filings. The organization has advocated environmental conservation since its founding in 1935 and, in 2021, stated that it had entered a “new era” focused on “addressing climate change and environmental justice.”
The group, which led multiple lawsuits against President-elect Donald Trump’s first administration, most recently denounced Trump’s nomination of former North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum to lead the Department of the Interior.
“Public lands are beloved and vitally important to people in this country,” Wilderness Society President David Seabrook said. “The first Trump administration treated these places like they’re meant to be dug up, drilled or sold off for profit. Gov. Burgum’s long track record of pushing for unchecked fossil fuel development sends a loud signal about which path they will take this time around.”
The Wilderness Society Action Fund, the political action committee affiliated with the Wilderness Society, spends hundreds of thousands of dollars lobbying and supporting efforts to elect Democrats each year.
Other ventures pursued by the Wilderness Society include advocating to rename public lands named after allegedly racist figures, funding various other left-of-center environmental organizations, and working to expand the quantity of land under federal protection.
